God is awesome, I am sure every Christian who believes, agrees about that. He is giving, merciful, forgiving, graceful, saving, peaceful, loving, joyous, generous, healing, delivering, providing.....He is also Righteous (with a capital R). He will judge us in what we do, what we say and our intentions behind every action and word (that's the heart part). I don't know about you, but, me--I have been feeling that we are far away from our God. That we as a Body have become quite lenient, compromising.....who knows maybe I am speaking for myself---but I do notice things---and I put them against the Word and they are wrong......One of the biggest things we are pushing for our girls in the girls ministry is the REAL TRUE BEAUTY inside them because of CHRIST---not anything THEY do to their outside body, to their temple. All these crazy diets, rigid exercising, gotta have them clothes....gotta wear that jewelry, that bathing suit (I won't even touch the bathing suit right now!). I have found so many young girls being raised in Christian families doing awful things to their bodies to 'fit in', 'be accepted'......Showing parts of their bodies that they should not be.....to get attention, to have people look at them.....What are we doing Christians? Are we allowing the outside world and how they view our girls and ourselves as women to seep into their minds and hearts and telling them "If you don't look like this, or wear that or do this you are not accepted" WHAT!?!??!?!? We are supposed to be modest, careful and not falling to the ways and the concerns of this world--it is hard, especially for people who grew up in the world before accepting Christ, it is VERY difficult at times----but we are not to be conformed to this world and not accepted by it---in fact Jesus talks about the world hating us and us hating it....why are so many people 'falling' for it? Now, I am not talking about hygiene and clean clothes, wearing clothes that other kids are wearing ---but when the other kids or women are wearing clothing that is showing off parts of the body that are to be saved for the husband and the Lord---then they are against Him and we should not be wearing them.
There should be no compromise with sin. This is just one of the things I am seeing. This is nowhere near the end & it's my heart & my opinion....Girls who feel they have to live up to some kind of acceptable in society are the girls with the eating disorders, anxiety & depression, even promiscuity (to be accepted by the opposite gender)---why because the world sets such high unattainable standards of how they should LOOK and defines how they should FEEL....that when the Lord is telling the opposite, they become confused, depressed, anxious..........Society and the world should never define our daughters' or any other girl or woman's worth or acceptability. We should not be teaching girls they need to look a certain way to be accepted by the world---we should be teaching the girls they need to look a certain way that is acceptable to the Lord---and He is gracious....He formed and created us and loves us just the way they are.
Those belly shirts, bikinis (yeah I said it), halters, short shorts, daisy dukes, mini skirts, deep plunging necklines, push up bras (I mean really) and anything else that is showing off our girls/women's bodies need to be left on the rack.....If you find them in your dresser or closet throw them out....they are not supposed to be part of your wardrobe...they show off your body and show parts that are not supposed to be bared to the world.
There is much more to come.....there is so much more to come.
This is my opinion that I have set up against the Word of God and I believe in my heart what I am saying.
This is in no way judging anyone....it's just calling it all to attention....
It's what I see with my heart
Thank you for saying these things. It is what needs said and don't worry that you would be accused of judging. God wants us to use righteous judgment and to speak out against sin and warn people in this evil world that is headed for hell. Jesus' message is repent. It's what he preached and it's what we need to preach.
