Pray For Your Leader

I have not posted in a few days...it is not because I have nothing to talk about (because I have a lot of that), I have been so busy with this and busy with that....The ministry we have for young girls is moving along wonderfully. This time around we brought the girls to our church. There were a few things that happened that blessed my heart: 1) we gave them all Bible & they wanted them! 2) We were thanked by one of the young girls for having the program 3) One of the young girls when waiting for her grandmother to pick her up actually was sitting on the sidewalk reading the Bible. It is becoming more of a blessing each time.  So what has my heart beating right now?

The Lord has had me in both books of Timothy lately and much has been standing out to me. I will begin in ITimothy 2:1-2 'I urge, then first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone---for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quite lives in all godliness and holiness.'  This can be tough to swallow, especially if we don't agree with who is in office or didn't vote for him. If we don't agree with laws, policies, etc......There is a lot to say here about leaders that we can form our own opinions, but, if you are a believing Christian, then you follow every Word spoken in His Word which says requests, intercession and thanksgiving be made for them, there is a reward in it: that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

Requests: We should be making requests for salvation and provision. For the perfect laborers from the Lord for the President to be in his immediate circle. We should request that he be given wisdom and understanding. We should request that he follow the Lord, that his eyes are opened to the big picture, that he has no selfishness, self-righteousness, self-love. We should request that he understands that he is responsible for a lot of decisions effecting many people.

Prayers: We should be praying for him. Praying for salvation. Praying for his protection against all those who want to rise up against him to hurt him. I am not talking about people who are rising up defending Christianity or the Constitution etc, I am talking about those whose aim is to kill him. Pray for the protection of his wife & children.

Intercession: We should be interceding for him, again for wisdom, salvation, knowledge and understanding and for his family.

Thanksgiving: Now this was a tough, really tough one for me to swallow. I had to let it go & swallow it. We as Believers must remember that the Lord put him there in that spot for His will and purposes--not for ours, not for the unbeliever, not for the USA, not for the world, but, for His perfect will and purpose the Lord set him there....we must thank the Lord for His purpose for him.

A lot of people might say we are in the end times, Paul spoke of being in the end times during his time and John also did. Here we are 2000 years later talking about the end times. Whether we are in the end times or not, the Lord commands us to pray for our leaders, to also hand over to Him all anxieties, worries, burdens, yokes, all of it to Him. Lay it at the throne of Grace, pray, intercede, petition and thank the Lord for our leader that He has placed there....the reward here on earth?

Live peacefully. Live quiet lives. Live in all godliness. Live in all holiness.

Wow! What rewards! Obeying the Lord in praying and thanking for our leaders has Him return His Word to us completely full--because His Word does not return empty! He keeps His promises. And then the absolute promise of eternal life....

We must follow His Word, we can not just pick out what we like and leave the rest behind---we can not be an All You Can Eat Buffet Christianity....We must be the Christian Believers He has called us to be, the Christians He died for! The Bible gives us direction on how we are to be living---and we need to be obeying the Lord and following it....No, I am not perfect & I find a lot hard to swallow....but I want to please my Lord. So, if praying, interceding, requesting and thanking the Lord for my President pleases my God, then I will do it....even if there were no reward here on earth for it....He is just such a gracious and loving God He likes to give us things.....We don't know when He is returning, so people need to stop trying to figure that out....my Bible says "I am coming soon" and "I will come like a thief in the night" and I believe the Word given to me. I can see a lot of end times, I should be prepared for anything at anytime (be prepared in season and out), but, I won't try to count any days......Be blessed
